Kieran Buxton
Senior Solicitor
Kieran is a senior solicitor in our Dispute Resolution team, specialising in real estate litigation. His practice covers a wide variety of contentious property matters, including dilapidations, lease disputes, rectification, title condition disputes, development disputes, and property factors applications.
Kieran has experience appearing in the sheriff courts, in arbitrations and in the First-Tier Tribunal (Housing and Property Chamber) and as an instructing solicitor in high value and complex litigation in the Court of Session.
Kieran also tutors property law at the University of Edinburgh. He is the Cases in Brief contributor for the Property Law Bulletin, writing six times per year on new case law developments, and delivers property law related training – most recently on the termination of commercial leases – via external legal education providers including Central Law Training (CLT) Scotland and MBL Seminars. His writing on case law about title conditions has been cited in leading legal texts by Professors Gretton, Reid and Paisley. From 2021-2023, Kieran was also a committee member of the Law Society of Scotland’s Property and Land Law Sub-Committee, which responds to consultations concerning changes to the law.
