Freelands v McClue: Company Director Could Not Bind Fellow Directors

In Freelands v McClue, radio presenter Scottie McClue successfully appealed against a Sheriff’s ruling that he was jointly and severally liable with the company and the other directors for a £3,270 trade debt of the company, L107 FM Ltd, of which he was a director. The sum was being claimed from Mr McClue by a firm of solicitors who had been instructed by Alan Shields, another director of the company responsible for the day-to-day running of the business, to represent the company in an employment tribunal brought by an employee of L107 FM Ltd.

Professor David Bell: Tax Aspects of Further Devolution Proposals

Driverless Cars Could Make Accident Litigation More Complex

By the time this goes to print, annoyingly if it is raining where you are, I am hoping to be on the slopes in glorious Alpine sunshine. That presupposes that I make it there in one piece. I will be flying with one of the low cost airlines, with an excellent track record for safety I am relieved to say. I am not the world's most enthusiastic flyer following a difficult incident a few years back on approach to Turin when air crew fell over and food went flying. You can imagine that that experience did nothing to reassure passengers on aviation safety.
