Richard is a Senior Associate in our Pensions team, with over 13 years of hands-on experience across a wide range of pensions issues. He is particularly active in the field of defined benefit pension schemes, advising clients across the public, private, and third sectors on all things DB. His recent experience includes:

  • Consolidation of trust documentation, and wider documentation drafting exercises;
  • Pension scheme mergers, buy-in/buyout exercises and scheme wind-ups; and
  • Member disputes.

Richard is known for his approachable, down-to-earth style. His clients appreciate his ability to demystify the legal jargon and offer clear, actionable advice. He is ranked as an ‘Associate to Watch’ in the Chambers legal directory.

A full member of the Association of Pension Lawyers, Richard is also the Secretary of the APL’s Scottish Group.
