Meriel is a senior solicitor in our Dispute Resolution team, specialising in professional negligence and professional disciplinary disputes.

Since qualifying with the firm, Meriel has worked on a range of complex and high value professional negligence claims for insurers, professional services firms, companies and private individuals. She has worked on claims involving a range of professionals, particularly legal and financial professionals such as solicitors, independent financial advisors, tax advisers, insolvency professionals and pension scheme administrators. Meriel is regularly involved in Court of Session and Sheriff Court cases, and also has experience with mediation.

In addition to professional negligence claims, Meriel also regularly works on professional discipline and regulatory matters, advising both individuals and professional organisations. Complementing her work in professional disputes, Meriel acts in a range of insurances disputes both pursuing and defending policy claims.

Meriel brings her technical abilities and insight to understand client needs, navigate complex issues and get clients the best possible outcome for them.

She is a member of several professional organisations, including the Association of Regulatory and Disciplinary Lawyers and Forum of Insurance Lawyers.
