Tamar Tammes
Managing Partner
Tamar is the first female managing partner at Burness Paull and leads, alongside the chair, an ambitious UK and international growth strategy that has delivered year-on-year growth since her appointment in 2018.
A renewables and real estate expert, in her leadership role Tamar champions a culture of respect and inclusion – building human and high-performing teams that nurture diversity and wellbeing in the workplace. Under her leadership, Burness Paull became the first accredited ‘menopause friendly’ employer in Scotland and the first independent Scottish law firm signatory to the Mindful Business Charter.
Tamar is a member of the 30% Club, a role which underlines her commitment to unlocking recognition of women’s contribution to business; a board member of Lex Mundi, the world’s leading network of independent law firms; and a trustee of the Burness Paull Foundation.
In 2022, Tamar was named managing partner of the year at the Scottish Legal Awards.
"I believe the firm has a culture that celebrates individuality and openness, where genuine advice and relationships are championed, an environment in which everyone is able to do their best work."
