Paula heads up the firm’s Banking & Finance and Funds division. She specialises in investment funds.
She advises on the structuring, establishment and operation of a wide range of private funds structures involving the use of Scottish limited partnerships. This includes fund vehicles, carried interest partnerships, feeder vehicles and acquisition structures. Clients include major domestic and international fund houses, and City and international law firms.
Paula has significant experience in advising institutional investors on investments in private equity and other alternative funds established in a variety of jurisdictions across the globe. She leads Burness Paull's investor-side practice which advises on primary investments, secondary deals and co-investments.
Prior to joining Burness Paull, Paula spent a number of years in the City with Travers Smith.
Paula is ranked in band 1 for Partnerships (Scotland) by Chambers. She is also recognised as a leading individual by Legal 500 and listed in the Lexology Index (formerly Who’s Who Legal) of Private Funds Lawyers 2026 (formation).
