Marianne is a Senior Solicitor in Burness Paull’s Energy and Rural Land and Natural Capital teams, with a strong focus on renewable energy projects across Scotland. She has broad experience advising on onshore and offshore wind, as well as solar, hydrogen and battery storage developments, supporting clients through all stages of the project lifecycle.
Her practice combines specialist energy expertise with a robust real estate foundation. Marianne regularly advises on the land aspects of large-scale energy developments, including site assembly, option and lease agreements, interface agreements and complex title structuring. She has particular experience acting for developers and landowners on rural energy projects, navigating the legal and practical issues associated with agricultural tenancies and crofting regimes.
In addition, Marianne has been involved in a number of significant real estate finance transactions, acting for both energy sector and commercial real estate clients, and delivering clear, solution-focused advice within tight transactional timelines.
Marianne is valued for her proactive, commercially minded approach and her ability to manage complex, multi-party projects efficiently. Based in Glasgow, Marianne also leads our Future Leaders Across the Renewable Energy Sector (FLARES) client relationship development programme.
