As proud Next Generation Partner of Scottish Ballet, we’re supporting exciting new choreography in its latest production of The Nutcracker, on tour from December 2024 to February 2025.
Choreographed and directed by Christopher Hampson CBE, this year’s reimagination of the classic fairy tale will be even more magical. Featuring short sections developed by next generation dancers and choreographers Jessica Fyfe, Javier Andreu, Nicholas Shoesmith and Sophie Laplane, this festive favourite promises to enchant a new generation of audiences.
Jessica Fyfe, Principal, Scottish Ballet said: “As one of Scottish Ballet’s Next Generation cohort of creative voices, being invited to create a new Divertissement in Act 2 for The Nutcracker has been such a huge opportunity to develop my choreography. When I joined the company last year, I was blown away by the versatility of the dancers and I am so privileged to have created on them a work that will be performed on many stages, while also performing alongside them.”
Peter Lawson, Chair at Burness Paull said: “Our partnership with Scottish Ballet is based on both organisations’ shared passion for creativity and investing in the next generation of our people and future leaders.
We’re committed to empowering the next generation of talent in our own business and I’m so pleased that we’re able to support Scottish Ballet as their talented dancers and choreographers create fresh new works to keep the company at the forefront of dance internationally.
I’m sure everyone who goes along to see The Nutcracker will be left blown away.”
