Senior Associate

Liam is a senior associate in our Pensions team and has extensive experience advising employers, trustees and providers on pensions, as well as acting for the firm’s independent trustee company. Liam recognises that every pension scheme and every client is different, he gives strategic advice as well as technical legal input - providing a view on options and tactics to achieve his clients’ objectives.
Liam is the day to day contact for a number of clients. He advises on scheme governance, trustee discretions, auto-enrolment, business and asset sales, scheme buy-ins, buy-outs and wind ups, pension sharing, transfers, GMP equalisation and GDPR compliance. He also has experience advising trustees and employers on pension disputes. These vary in size and complexity, and include advising on individual member complaints and negligence actions against former advisers, as well as more significant actions concerning documentation issues.
Liam is a member of the Association of Pensions Lawyers and is part of the Scottish Financial Enterprise Young Professionals forum.
