Gemma Young

Gemma is a director in the banking and funds team. She advises banks, corporate borrowers, private equity sponsors, funds and investment trusts on a range of financing transactions, including real estate finance, leveraged and acquisition financing and fund financing, as well as working closely with leading City firms on the Sottish aspects of cross-jurisdictional lending transactions. Gemma also has significant experience in advising on the Scots law aspects of securitisation and structured finance transactions.

Gemma recently worked as a structuring advisor at abrdn plc, where she provided strategic debt advice to the plc’s investment teams in order to drive investment performance. She also has experience in insolvency, having been seconded to The Royal Bank of Scotland plc’s restructuring team in 2014.
