Neil is a partner in our Dispute Resolution division and the leader of Burness Paull's oil and gas dispute resolution practice. Neil has a wealth of experience in marine and offshore disputes, representing clients in court and at arbitration and mediation. Neil works with clients in both the public and private sector in contract, corporate finance, insolvency and property disputes at all levels in the Scottish courts.

In addition to being a highly regarded general commercial litigator, Neil has particular expertise as a lawyer in shipping, offshore drilling and subsea operations and has supported and represented clients in expert referrals, and international arbitration. He has also acted in major casualty and personal injury cases both in the UK and worldwide for international drilling companies, ship owners and marine insurers. He has provided advice in relation to dealings with the regulatory authorities, support throughout the emergency response and investigation phases of an incident.

Neil is qualified to practice as a lawyer in Scotland and in England and Wales. He has expertise in litigation, arbitration and mediation across the UK and internationally.
