We are delighted to announce the next exciting chapter of our collaboration with Scottish Ballet as its official Next Generation Partner, which over the next four years will see Burness Paull support the company in empowering its next generation of talent in transforming the future of dance, for the audiences of tomorrow.
A partnership which aligns our shared passion for creativity and investing in the next generation of our people and future leaders, Burness Paull’s support will enable Scottish Ballet dancers, choreographers, filmmakers, photographers, musicians and set designers to create works to keep the company at the forefront of dance internationally.
To mark the launch of our Next Generation Partnership we are delighted to share with you the first of these new works - ‘Breathless’, a short film (4 mins) which is a beautiful depiction of all our shared values. Its themes of balance, power and trust link perfectly to our partnership objectives and epitomise precisely how we operate in our relationships with our clients and with our colleagues.
Choreographed by dancers Madeline Squire and Nicholas Shoesmith and directed by Eve McConnachie, 'Breathless' explores the virtuous cycle of life and death. Shot in a technically challenging enclosed circular space, it has been created as an infinite loop, with the footage then reversed so it looks as if it is one continuous work. Its appearance as part of the San Francisco Dance Film Festival this month is testimony to its early critical acclaim.
For further insight please watch our 'Making of Breathless’ short film (5 mins).
As a firm, every day we look to our networks and partnerships to inspire us to think more creatively about how we improve our client and employee experience.
Burness Paull has enjoyed a successful partnership with Scottish Ballet for over five years, a relationship built on a mutual global outlook and human & high performing ethos, with a strong commitment to innovation across performance, diversity & inclusion, wellbeing and technology. Our Next Generation Partnership is a courageous evolution of this and we look forward to continuing to champion our shared values together, through innovative collaborations such as this wonderful film.
We hope you enjoy.
