This year’s tournament kicks off in Sacramento, California this weekend, running from 8th – 15th July and it is the first time the event has been back in person since 2019.

Team Scotland is made up of players from Street Soccer Scotland, a fantastic organisation that creates positive change for socially disadvantaged groups across the country through football related activity and personal development opportunities.

Taking part in the Homeless World Cup has been described by former players as a “life changing experience”, with the tournament bringing together teams from over 50 countries for a weekend full of football, fun and friendship.

Burness Paull has partnered with Street Soccer Scotland for a number of years, providing support through the Burness Paull Foundation and collaborating on initiatives such as football tournaments, Business Club events and, most recently, an exciting new play written in collaboration with some of the players, “Street Soccer: #SameTeam”.

Peter Lawson, chair at Burness Paull said:

"Having partnered with Street Soccer Scotland for over ten years now, one of the highlights for everyone at Burness Paull is cheering on Team Scotland as they head off to the Homeless World Cup. It's a fantastic, exciting experience for the players and we look forward to hearing their stories on their return. On behalf of the Burness Paull Foundation and colleagues across the firm, I want to wish them the best of luck - we're right behind you!"

Supporters at home can watch a live stream of the games on the Homeless World Cup website, and can keep up to date with the progress of Team Scotland on Street Soccer Scotland’s website and social channels.
