Megan Briggs, director in Burness Paull’s market-leading intellectual property team, has been named Scotland Rising Star of the Year at the Managing IP EMEA Awards 2026, held at the InterContinental London – The O2.
The Managing IP Awards programme is one of the most comprehensive and widely respected IP law firm awards. The programme covers several IP practice areas and more than 50 jurisdictions. Each year its researchers obtain information from thousands of firms, IP practitioners and their clients through interviews, email and online surveys.
Megan is an integral member of Burness Paull’s IP team, which is one of the largest operating in Scotland and is trusted by the firm’s international client base – including global household names – to protect, enforce and maximise intellectual assets.
The team’s reputation is reflected in its top-tier practice area and individual rankings in the Chambers & Partners and Legal 500 legal directories, as well as being gold ranked by both World Trade Mark Review (WTR) 1000 and IAM Patent 1000.
Colin Hulme, board member and head of IP at Burness Paull, said: “This award is well-deserved recognition for Megan, who is highly regarded by our clients and the wider market for her intellectual property expertise.
“She is an exceptional lawyer who is dedicated to ensuring our clients receive the highest quality advice as we protect and maximise the commercial benefit of their assets.”
