With the new school year fast approaching, the Burness Paull Foundation joined colleagues from across the firm for our annual school uniform appeal, donating new school clothing, schoolbags and stationery to three fantastic organisations helping families in our communities.

As well as donations of much needed supplies, financial contributions were made to each organisation so they can direct funds where they are most beneficial. The charities partnered with for this year’s initiative were Abernecessities, Edinburgh School Uniform Bank and Back To School Bank East Renfrewshire.

Jackie Robertson, Foundation Manager at Burness Paull, said: “Throughout the year the Burness Paull Foundation is committed to helping charities who make a real difference and our annual school uniform appeal is an important initiative in our calendar. As the summer holidays come to an end, we believe each and every child deserves the best start to the new term and the work Abernecessities, Edinburgh School Uniform Bank and Back to School Bank East Renfrewshire does goes a long way to making this happen for our local children. We’re very glad we are able to play a part in helping them continue with their fantastic work.

Michelle Herd, Abernecessities Co-Founder, said: "We express our deepest gratitude to the Burness Paull Foundation for their ongoing support. Your unwavering kindness and generosity in assisting our team to serve the community are greatly appreciated. Your contributions are truly life-changing for so many local children. With your kind donations, children will now be able to look forward to attending school after the holidays. We cannot thank you enough."

Julia Grindley, Trustee, Edinburgh School Uniform Bank, said: "Every child deserves to go to school looking smart, feeling confident, and fitting in with their peers. Times are hard and some children are missing school because they don't have suitable clothing or footwear. We are delighted to have received generous donations from staff at Burness Paull to support our work providing brand new uniform and school essentials to children in Edinburgh. This support will enable children to go back to school in August with their heads held high, ready to learn and play."

Sandra Douglas, Charity Founder, Back to School Bank East Renfrewshire, said: “Every year the demand for our service increases and this year, more than ever before. We’ve said this many times over the years but without the help and the generosity of people the Burness Paull Foundation, we could not do what we do here, to help so many children and their hard pressed families.

Thank you … thank you on behalf of all the families we work with and thank you on behalf of all of the team of volunteers here at Back to School Bank East Renfrewshire. You’re amazing!
