Tom is a leading competition law expert and has advised on all aspects of EU and UK competition law for more than 30 years. His expertise includes advising on competition compliance, merger clearance and challenges to regulatory decisions, cartel cases, vertical and horizontal agreements, and market studies and investigations.
He has experience of advising a broad range of clients – with a particular focus on the financial services sector, retailers, manufacturers and broadcasters. He has brought and defended several actions based on competition and wider public law issues before the UK and European courts.
Tom is ranked as a senior statesperson by Chambers and Partners and joined Burness Paull from a leading City firm in October 2025.
