Hazel is an associate in our planning team.
Hazel joined Burness Paull in 2022 following her traineeship. Since joining the firm Hazel has been an integral part of the team supporting in a variety of renewables and energy-related planning matters.
She now regularly advises clients, particularly developers, on the planning and environmental aspects of renewables projects.
Hazel’s experience in contentious matters since joining the planning team allows her to input on advice where clients are seeking to be represented at planning appeals/inquiries and judicial review proceedings.
She has experience of both contentious and non-contentious infrastructure matters also. This has led her to become a Scottish representative for the Compulsory Purchase Association Futures, and is actively involved with the Southern Scotland Young Professionals in Energy Network.
