Gary is a partner in our Dispute Resolution division and is one of our most experienced commercial litigators, with more than 30 years under his belt. While he has a broad range of experience in all commercial disputes, his particular interests are: fraud and insolvency and telecoms.
His client-centric focus means that he has become a trusted adviser to significant clients over many years. He has headed our team for The Insolvency Service for more than a decade and has advised Vodafone in its Scottish litigation over the same period.
He is listed as a “Leading Individual” by the independent legal directory Legal 500 and is recommended for being 'very calm and collected' and heading up the 'well organised and very responsive' commercial disputes team. Chambers identifies that clients and peers consider him a "very switched-on and sensible" lawyer.
Gary also leads our insolvency disputes team and is accredited by the Law Society of Scotland as a specialist in Insolvency Law. The Legal 500 notes that he is “a renowned insolvency litigation specialist in the Scottish market” and is recommended by Chambers UK for his "encyclopaedic knowledge of insolvency law".
Gary is a Fellow of the R3 – the Association of Business Recovery Professionals.
