Jamie Kerr is a Partner leading a specialist immigration law team and has extensive experience across the entire field of immigration, visa, nationality and refugee law.
He has a very broad client base and acts for businesses and individuals from around the world. He has also acted for overseas governments and he deals with all aspects of UK visa law and policy. He regularly appears in the courts dealing with complex immigration and visa issues.
Jamie has been Co-Convenor of the Immigration Law Practitioners’ Association’s Scotland Committee and sat on the Scottish board of the Confederation of British Industry. He sat on the Scottish Government’s Strategic Labour Market Review Group and has been a long standing member of the Immigration & Asylum Committee of the Law Society of Scotland.
He is a regular speaker and commentator on issues around migration, including the importance of global mobility and attracting international talent and investment to the UK. He tutors human rights law at the University of Glasgow and has lectured on immigration law issues in the UK, US, Europe and in the Far East.
He holds an appointment as a Writer to the Signet and sat on the Council of The Society of Writers to HM Signet (the WS Society).
