Even with robust security protections in place, many organisations will find themselves falling victim to a cyber-attack. The financial, legal and reputational consequences can be severe and long-lasting. Recent press reports show that some organisations have lost millions of pounds on business interruption and recovery costs in the wake of a cyber incident. This is before taking account of any regulatory fines from the UK Information Commissioner’s Office, or compensation claims from affected parties.
Preparing and regularly testing your incident response plan is essential to managing these risks and ensuring that the organisation can respond promptly and effectively in the event of an attack. Even so, UK Government statistics reveal that only 30% of UK organisations have formal incident management protocols in place.
We are running a practical incident response workshop in our Edinburgh office where our expert data privacy & cyber team will guide you through an unfolding mock incident. We are delighted to be joined by Paul Tumelty, Mandiant’s Consulting Lead for UK and Ireland, a recognised leader in dynamic cyber defence, threat intelligence and incident response. Together, our presenters will offer insight into how you can properly manage your response and recovery, from a technical, legal and management perspective.
This session will be valuable for those with board-level responsibility for business continuity, as well as other senior team members involved in IT security and data privacy.
