Stuart heads up our Financial Services Regulatory & Disputes team, advising a diverse group of regulated firms in Scotland’s thriving FS sector and beyond.

Stuart joined the firm from a global bank and now acts for clients spanning life & pensions, asset management, funds, retail and corporate banking, FinTech, general insurance, private equity and professional services. He provides a full spectrum of regulatory advice from conduct and compliance through to enforcement and remediation.

As a steering group member for Scottish Financial Enterprise, Stuart contributes thought leadership in relation to sector issues such as growth, innovation, technology and best practice.

Stuart is a Solicitor Advocate with rights of audience in the higher courts and a certified mediator. He helps clients to resolve corporate and commercial disputes with particular expertise in FS, corporate M&A claims and schemes requiring court approval. Stuart also supports Burness Paull’s market leading Funds practice in relation to claims arising from carry partnerships and other Scottish fund vehicles. He maintains an excellent track record in court where litigation proves necessary.
