Enhance your claims defensibility strategy and experience a day in court.
With onerous legal duties, strict timescales, and a granular analysis of factual evidence – liability claims are a robust test of the effectiveness of an organisation’s safety culture. When faced with a claim, how well would your organisation fare?
What is the Mock Trial Workshop?
Inspired by a real civil claim which made its way through the courts in Scotland, our Mock Trial Workshop follows the story of an employee injured in a warehouse during a manual handling operation. The employer denies liability and a court action is raised.
The workshop contains animated court room drama, with witnesses being examined and cross-examined before the final judgment is pronounced. The workshop will analyse the documents used in the court room and discuss the practical ways in which the defence could be improved. Attendees will also have a chance to vote on prospects of success as the evidence unfolds.
Learning outcomes:
- Increase awareness of the processes of gathering and recording evidence and conducting investigations.
- Give attendees an insight into what it’s like giving evidence in court (without any excruciating role play).
- Demonstrate the importance of robust documentation and implementation of policies and procedures and how they will be scrutinised in court.
- Assist in the analysis of a liability claim and the prospects of success in court.
- Improve future claims defensibility.
How is it delivered?
