Burness Paull Appointed Lead Adviser To Ecotricity In Scotland

Burness Paull has been appointed as lead adviser to green energy firm Ecotricity in Scotland, following a pitch led by chairman Philip Rodney.

The firm, which has a strong presence in planning, was selected by general counsel Tom Cowling. Cowling said: “They are an energetic, enthusiastic team with a good reach in Scotland. This shows our commitment to the region and to developing renewable energy facilities there.”

Ecotricity is currently developing several Scottish projects, much of which it is seeking planning permission for while Ecotricity subsidiary Brit Wind is also looking to install wind turbines in Scotland.

Cowling said: “We have a good pipeline of work; we’re looking at solar projects and when we are ready we will also be looking at natural gas.”

Rodney added: “We’re very strong on planning and renewables and we have wanted to act for Ecotricity for a long time. I admire what they are doing, they’re a very distinct business. They’re interesting and we like working with interesting clients.”
