Success At The Scottish Green Energy Awards

I was delighted to hear that a number of our clients had been successful at last week’s Scottish Green Energy Awards Dinner. In particular, it was great to see that Glasgow Science Centre had received well-deserved recognition – in the form of the “Champions for Renewables Award” - for the highly-successful “Powering the Future” exhibition which it developed in partnership with a range of major private sector players in the energy field, as well as public sector partners.

The ESES City Region Deal is an ambitious bid, particularly in terms of its focus on, amongst other things, infrastructure investment, including digital connectivity.

Sentencing Update: Scottish Power v HMA

Over the course of the last few months there has been a significant increase in the level of criminal fines imposed by courts in both Scotland and England for breaches of health and safety legislation.  For larger organisations fines which are measured in millions are the new norm.  The sudden and dramatic increase is in part due to new sentencing guidelines which came into force in England and Wales in February this year (the “2016 Guidelines").
