A New Health And Safety Regulator For Scotland?

While proposals to devolve powers to establish a separate Scottish Health and Safety Executive did not make it into the main body of the Smith Commission Agreement, a separate health and safety regulator for Scotland is still a hot topic for discussion. According to the Coalition Government’s recent publication, a review of the health and safety outcomes that are being sought within Scotland (albeit within a reserved legislative framework) is imminent, which may lead to the creation of a new Scottish HSE.
