Within our Commercial Property and Planning divisions we have established a national housebuilding strategy group which is focused on all aspects of the housebuilding sector and provides a range of services to housebuilders, landowners and funders.
Strategic commercial advice on how best to navigate the planning process and procure the best outcome is at the core of the service we provide. Our planning division is regularly involved from inception of a housebuilding project, for both landowners and developers, promoting strategic land through the development plan process, and then providing tactical guidance on related planning applications. Working as part of the development team, we also represent clients at hearings, examinations and inquiries.
In the current economic climate property development has become more challenging than ever. New structures and solutions are constantly required to overcome difficulties and to facilitate development. As a consequence, site assembly agreements, joint ventures, consortium arrangements, forward sales and infrastructure agreements are very much the new norm. We have developed a number of novel and often complex solutions to procure development for our clients.
Our housebuilding team acts for major housebuilders, including Stewart Milne Group, Taylor Wimpey, Bett Homes, Dandara, Barratt, Scotia, Springfield, AMA, CHAP, Cruden, Malcolm Allan, Robertson Homes and Deveron, as well as social housing providers, such as Sanctuary, Scotland Housing Assocation and Castlehill Housing Association and many smaller and niche developers. We also act for a wide range of landowners and are currently advising on some of the largest new settlements planned in Scotland which will deliver over 20,000 new homes. In addition, our dedicated sales team has developed a range of tailored shared equity and other incentivised sale products to help improve the rate of sales where required.
